Curtobacterium flaccumfaciens pv. flaccumfaciens (cff) Assay Expected Later This Year
CSP Labs is in the process of validating the NSHS dilution-plating assay, Be 4.3, for Curtobacterium flaccumfaciens pv. flaccumfaciens (Cff). We will be seeking NSHS accreditation in Q2 and expect to offer the test in late Q3 of 2025. The Cff Be 4.3 method was updated by NSHS in April of this year to align it with how the Pseudomonas savastanoi pv. Phaseolicola (Psp) and Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. Phaseoli (Xap) methods are run in the lab. This means that we can use the same seed sample to test for all three pathogens simultaneously.
The European Union is expected to start regulating Cff later this year. Results from our NSHS accredited Cff assay can be used to get a phytosanitary certificate from the USDA to fulfill EU testing requirements. In addition to Cff accreditation we are increasing testing capacity to meet customers’ fall phytosanitary bean testing needs.
