Expanded Field Research Services Now Available at CSP Labs
CSP Labs is pleased to announce the continued expansion of our Field Research services, now offering resistance screening for melon Fusarium wilt (Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. melonis, Fom) and Anthracnose of Cucurbits.
These services are designed to support plant breeders, seed companies, and researchers seeking reliable resistance data to inform breeding decisions and strengthen varietal development programs.
Currently Available Resistance Screening Services
Melon Fusarium Wilt (Fom)
Testing available for the following:
- Fom: 0
- Fom: 1
- Fom: 2
Anthracnose of Cucurbits
Testing available for the following:
- Race 1
- Race 2
Controlled Environment Screening
Field Research services are conducted under environmentally controlled conditions to ensure precise, repeatable disease pressure and consistent evaluation of host response. This approach minimizes environmental variability and supports generation of dependable resistance data suitable for breeding and advancement decisions.
Collaborative Scientific Approach
CSP Labs actively collaborates with the California Plant and Soil Science Institute (CPPSI) at UC Davis. This partnership integrates standardized methodologies and scientific expertise to support rigorous, research-aligned screening protocols.
Additional Services in Development
The following resistance screening services are currently in development:
- Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. niveum (Fon)
- Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. fragariae (Fof)
- Phytophthora capsici
