CSP Labs and SensTek Diagnostics Partner to Advance Field-Ready Plant Molecular Diagnostics

CSP Labs has entered into a licensing and partnership agreement with SensTek Diagnostics to advance the development, validation, and distribution of a portable, LAMP-based molecular diagnostics platform for the agricultural market. The platform is designed for portability and the rapid detection of plant diseases and other molecular targets, including genetic characteristics such as GMOs at the point of need.

SensTek’s proprietary solid-state electrochemical sensor technology expands the range of settings in which LAMP-based assays can be deployed while delivering results in as little as 15 minutes. Its solid-state design makes the platform more rugged and better suited for challenging environments. LAMP assays already work well with crude samples, which minimizes sample preparation. SensTek’s platform also uses a cartridge-based workflow, with cartridges preloaded with the desired assay, eliminating the need for assay preparation in the field. Together, these features make the platform robust, rugged, and well suited for field deployment.

CSP Labs is supporting the validation and performance evaluation of initial assays developed for the platform. This includes benchmarking assay performance against established methods to ensure consistency, reliability, and alignment with customer needs. In addition to assay validation, CSP Labs is collaborating with early users to evaluate how the system performs under real-world conditions. These efforts are focused on understanding practical applications, refining workflows, and ensuring that the platform can be effectively integrated into routine operations.

Rather than replacing centralized laboratory diagnostics, these technologies are positioned to extend testing capabilities by enabling earlier screening. By contributing to the validation and refinement of this platform, CSP Labs is supporting the development of tools that align with existing diagnostic standards while expanding how and where testing can be performed.
