Watermelon Fon Resistance Screening Now Available at CSP Labs

CSP Labs introduces a new watermelon resistance screening service focused on Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. niveum (Fon), the causal agent of Fusarium wilt in watermelon.

Fon can persist in soil for extended periods and may significantly impact watermelon production through vascular wilt, plant decline, and reduced field performance. Because disease expression may vary under uncontrolled conditions, resistance evaluations can become inconsistent across environments and growing seasons.

To help breeding teams generate stronger comparative data, CSP Labs offers managed resistance screening assays that apply consistent disease pressure across tested material.
