Tomato Fol Resistance Screening Now Available at CSP Labs
A new tomato resistance screening service is now available for Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici (Fol), the causal agent of Fusarium wilt in tomato.
Fol infects plants through the root system and colonizes the vascular tissue, restricting water movement throughout the plant. In susceptible varieties, the disease can cause yellowing, wilting, vascular discoloration, stunting, and yield loss. Disease severity may also vary depending on environmental conditions, making resistance evaluations less consistent under uncontrolled field conditions
To help breeding and research teams generate stronger comparative data, managed resistance screening assays apply consistent disease pressure across tested material.
Currently available races include:
The following tests are now available through CSP Labs Express:
-
- Fol: 1
- Fol: 2
- Fol: 3
Supporting Tomato Breeding Programs
The service is designed to support:
-
- Germplasm evaluation
- Resistance validation
- Line advancement decisions
- Research trials requiring repeatable disease pressure
The addition of tomato further expands the range of crop-specific Field Research services available through CSP Labs.
